Mandatory Clearances & Trainings

Thank you for your interest in volunteering with Shippensburg Area Little League (SALL)! SALL is committed to

the safety and well being of our youth. As a volunteer with SALL, personnel are required by Little League

International and the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania to obtain various clearances and trainings. This document

was created to assist in obtaining those clearances/trainings. Questions or concerns, as well as submitting

The following clearances/trainings must be completed prior to interacting with our youth :

JDP National Criminal Background Check- Annually

PA Act 34 PA State Police Criminal History Clearance- Initially & then every 5 years

PA Act 151 Child Abuse History Clearance- Initially & then every 5 years

PA Act 114 Federal Criminal History Check- Initially & Then every 5 years

Child Abuse Awareness Training- Annually

First Aid Awareness- Annually 

Safety Awareness- Annually 

JDP National Criminal Background Check-

This will be emailed to your email address on file and will come from JDP QuickApp. This also includes the Little

League Volunteer Application. Upon completion a notification is automatically sent to SALL. You do not need to

submit proof of completion to the Safety Officer.

PA Act 34 Criminal Background Check- Submit to the Safety Officer once completed.

PLEASE READ, THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT! The PA District Administrators negotiated an arrangement with

the PA State Legislature to allow any Little League volunteer who has lived within the State of Pennsylvania

for the last 10 contiguous years to submit a Disclosure Statement For Volunteers in lieu of the $22.95

Child Abuse Awareness, First Aid Awareness, & Safety Awareness Trainings

Little League International requires all volunteers to complete the annual child abuse awareness, safety awareness and first aid awareness trainings.

There is no need to submit a certificate after completion, as SALL is notified of successful completion by Little League.

To complete, go to https://www.littleleague.org/university/ . You will need to create an account or log

in. VERY IMPORTANT - Make sure when registering that you associate your account with SALL! Search

for each respective course and complete. Each course takes 30-45 minutes to complete and has a short

quiz at the end. Once completed, there is no need to email a certificate to the Safety Officer. SALL is

automatically notified of completion.

CONFIDENTIALITY NOTICE: All information obtained during the background investigation will

be kept strictly confidential. The results will be shared only with individuals who have a

business need-to-know, such as authorized SALL BOA personnel, to make employment

decisions. The information will be stored securely and retained in accordance with applicable

federal and state regulations
